Information about the congress / international meeting

Thank you for informing us about your congress or international conference! The Oulu Convention Bureau collects statistics and maintains communication about international meetings and conferences held in Oulu. If your event meets the criteria of an international conference, we will forward the information to the Finland Convention Bureau for statistical purposes. If you wish, you can also register a conference with us for statistical purposes only.

International Congress criteria:

  • at least 10 participants
  • participants from at least 2 other countries in addition to Finland
  • at least 20 % participants from outside Finland
  • duration of at least 1 day (minimum 4 hours)
  • Organised by an international organisation or its Finnish member organisation, a non-governmental organisation, a university, a university department or a group of researchers, a university of applied sciences, a research institute, a ministry or other similar non-profit organisation.

Congresses from the previous year must be reported to us by 31 January at the latest to be included in the annual congress statistics. The statistics are published in March-April each year. The information from the congress statistics helps to develop Oulu as a congress city. By publicising the congress, you will also gain visibility for it through the Oulu Convention Bureau. You can also add your event to the Oulu Events Calendar.
